IMAGES OF FIGURE

Woodcut from Linsley Book

There were no photographs of Figure during his lifetime. The print from Linsley's The Morgan Horse is the earliest known likeness. Three men who knew Figure testified concerning the correctness of this drawing to the appearance of the original horse.

The paintings by George Ford Morris and Jeanne Mellin are renderings by two twentieth century artists. The bronze sculpture, by Frederick Roth, is the original of the life size statue at the University of Vermont Morgan Horse Farm in Weybridge, VT, and was donated by Henry E. I. and Martha V. duPont.
