When the AMHA headquarters
was built in 1988, Henry and Martha duPont gave the funds to build a Museum
to "Tell the Story of the Morgan Horse". And what a story it
is! From the first Morgan Horse, Figure, to the most recent Grand National
and World Championship Morgans, it has been a story of a breed that has
met the needs of the day and given its beauty, grace and strength to people
for over 200 years.
YOU NEED
THE MORGAN MUSEUM
Everyone benefits from a strong Museum which will preserve
not only the past history of our unique breed, but which will also preserve
the history that is being made today. "History and History in the
Making"
THE MORGAN MUSEUM NEEDS YOU
Our parent organization, the American Morgan Horse Institute,
from whom we receive our non-profit, 501(c)(3) status, furnishes our space,
utilities and fine art insurance. All the other operating expenses of the
Museum, including staff, are paid with donations from people like you.
Without your help, our exhibit, outreach exhibits, research and education,
acquisitions, collections and preservation activities will not be what they
should be.
THE TIME IS NOW
Do not worry. The Museum will continue to serve and preserve.
The Museum is too important to us all for us to let up in our support of this valuable asset to the Morgan Community.
Let us know by your support now that you care.
HOW TO HELP
Become a member of the Friends of the National Museum of
the Morgan Horse. Your contribution is 100% tax deductible. Friends will
keep up on the happenings of the Museum through a Newsletter.
You may send a check or use your Master Card or Visa.
Use the good old US Mail or Fax or E-mail your information and Credit Card
Number. We are glad to accept stock certificates so that you may save
taxes on appreciated assets. (See "Creative Ways to Give" below.)
Be sure to send all the information that is asked for on the enclosed "pledge
card" so we may thank you properly and send certification that your
gift is tax-deductible.
ANOTHER WAY TO HELP
Please help find the treasures of our past and our present.
You may give these items to the Museum or send them on loan. They will
be loved and cared for properly and be made accessible to others who will
appreciate them. Call the Archivist, Kathy Furr, with questions.
OTHER OPPORTUNITIES
If you are able to fund a special project and would like
to have recognition for yourself or in memory of someone else posted in
the Museum, see SPECIAL OPPORTUNITIES
FOR SPECIAL PEOPLE. You may want to consider other creative ways to
help the Museum, such as in-kind gifts, gifts of stock, bequests and remainder
gifts. See CREATIVE WAYS TO
GIVE.
